Whoa, reading the Shenzhen Daily newspapers is getting way too depressing.

Yes, it can be just naturally exasperating living in Shenzhen, “The World’s Largest Village”TM but sometimes the news just seems to scream “what is going on in China?”

News Items from July 25th that do not give us joie de vivre:

  • Propaganda article against computer games
  • 18 year old drowns at crowded da mei sha beach, lifeguards do nothing
  • Propaganda article pretending China is doing something about software piracy ha ha haaaa
  • 6 kids drowned in pools or lakes so far this month in Shenzhen, maybe we ought to do something about safety, or something
  • Chinese guy pays for lots of patents of his own stupid inventions like mechanised bedpan and robot ashtray, and gets his family into debt
  • 200 family members cause a riot at a hospital where a boy died after being misdiagnosed, but all went away after the municipal authority paid them 100,000RMB cash
